PushTAN notifications play a key role in securely authorizing payments in finway. If you do not receive a PushTAN notification on your smartphone or if there are delays, this is usually due to the banking credentials on file.
📌 Key Points at a Glance
No finway activation required: You do not need to be specifically activated in finway to receive PushTANs.
Cause #1: The PushTAN is always sent to the person whose online banking credentials were used to set up the bank account.
Quick fix: Unlink the bank account and relink it using your own banking credentials.
🔍 Why am I not receiving a PushTAN notification?
If another team member (e.g., from accounting or management) linked the bank account in finway, your bank will always send the PushTAN code to that person’s smartphone.
The system always uses the authentication method associated with the login credentials currently stored for the bank account in finway.
🛠️ Solutions for PushTAN Issues
Option 1: Re-link Your Bank Account (Recommended)
To receive all future PushTANs directly on your own smartphone, link your bank account using your personal login credentials:
In finway, go to Settings > Bank Accounts.
Completely disconnect the existing bank account.
Set up the bank account again using your own online banking login credentials.
All future payment authorizations will now be processed via your personal PushTAN.
Option 2: Use Alternative Methods for Payment Authorization
If you cannot or do not wish to use a direct PushTAN connection, the following alternatives are available:
Batch Transfer via SEPA-XML: Create the desired payments as a batch transfer in finway and upload the generated SEPA-XML file to your regular online banking platform. Authorization then takes place directly in your banking app.
Additional banking access: Check whether you can set up an additional user profile with your own login credentials in the bank account settings.
